Marjay Smith is a New York City based actor, dancer and BAWSE. She received her BA in Theater from the University of DC and holds her MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. She is native of Washington, DC and embraces authenticity and daring greatly.

 Marjay has starred in various commercials such as Sara Lee Bread where she played the loving mom of two, Match.com, Seagrams and Queen V. She made her Off Broadway debut in Lady of Fadima and Last Days of Judas Iscariot; which has provided her with gutsy challenges and immense growth during the 2017 ASDS Repertory Season. She has also performed in Patty and Reveries.

Growing up, Marjay has always had a passion to dance and express herself through movement. Subsequently, she has studied Hip-Hop, Modern, Contemporary,  Jazz and Heels. Marjay is a a former CORE member of Pretty Big Movement, first international Plus Size/ Full figured dance company. She has also had the privilege to train professionally at Broadway Dance Center while also taking lessons at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Joffrey Ballet School.

Marjay’s current focal point is on health and fitness as she previously struggled with obesity, asthma and a prediabetic scare. She has lost over 90lbs and maintains this through self -love, discipline and perseverance.

As an artivist she sets out to use art as a platform to educate, enlighten, and empower others, making the word “cant” non-existent in her vocabulary, while believing that the only thing that can stop a person from achieving their dreams is themselves.
